Donald Collins, beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born on June 27, 1945, in McRoberts, Kentucky, Don was the son of the late Hilliard and Oma Collins. He grew up surrounded by a loving family and carried those values of faith, hard work, and loyalty throughout his life.
In 1972, Donnie founded and operated Don Collins Drywall, a business he proudly ran until his health no longer allowed. Known for his dedication, skill, and integrity, he built not only a company but lifelong friendships within his community.
Donnie had many passions over the years. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, later discovering a lifelong love for horses and farm life. Time spent on the farm brought him peace and joy, and his animals were a source of deep pride. Donnie was a man of the Baptist faith, living with strength and humility that reflected his beliefs.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis J. Collins, his sisters Gennieve C. Allen and Janet C. Mullins; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who cherished him; and his loyal canine companion Teddy.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Earl, Verlin, and Jimmie Collins; his sister Berneese Collins; his parents, Hilliard and Oma Collins; and many beloved animals and pets.
Donnie’s big smile, generosity and steadfast spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind.
