Donald Charles Lassen, 94, of Zionsville, IN passed into the presence of Jesus, Whom he loved and served, on August 10, 2021. Don was born in Lapeer, MI on August 16, 1926, to Frank and Beatrice Lassen. He married the love of his life, Virginia, or Gin as he called her, and they kept their covenant of love and devotion for 68 wonderful years. Don served our country in the Navy during WWII and then worked as a draftsman for General Motors Corporation, retiring in 1982.

Don leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Virginia, daughter Wendy Lassen, his sister Shirley, and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by daughter Peggy Pryor.

Don was a member of College Park Church and devoted his life and service there. He served on the building committee in the early days of the church. He was a faithful deacon, an usher, a greeter, and a communion server. It was a very sad day when he decided he was no longer steady enough to accomplish these ministries. But even then, he and Virginia faithfully sat in the lobby of the church and greeted people with a smile. Since Virginia did not want to take up two seats in the lobby (someone may need that chair!) she was often seen sitting on Don’s lap. But he never complained about that.

Don loved the Lord Jesus. One day he realized that something was terribly wrong between him and Jesus. It was the sin that we all have. It was then that he decided to give his sin to Jesus and receive Jesus’ forgiveness. At that moment he became a child of God. God gifted Don in so many ways and he was forever grateful. One of those gifts was his faithful wife, Virginia. They were rarely seen apart.
