Donald C. Myers

Donald C. Myers, 87 of Carmel, passed away Thursday, August 18th, 2022.  Don was born August 27th, 1934, in Indianapolis to the late Paul F. and Mary L. Myers.  He was a 1952 graduate of Anderson High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Personnel Management from Indiana University (1959).  He was a member and past president of Theta Chi Fraternity.

Don worked in Human Resources as a Personnel Director for 37 years.   He began his career with Dow Chemical, later working for St. John’s Hospital in Anderson, Union Hospital in Terre Haute and retiring from Modern Vending in 2000.  In post-retirement, he kept busy working at Melseramics Dental Lab, Automated Business Solutions and as a lunchroom monitor at Eagle Elementary in Zionsville.

Don was a member of Carmel United Methodist Church and a long-time member of the Elks Lodge.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24 at 4:30 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

Don was the widower of Barbara L. Myers, to whom he was married 60 years.  He is survived by his children, Lynne A. (husband, Jeff) Plawecki and Steven E. (wife. Jill) Myers; grandchildren, Kevin (wife, Tayler) Plawecki, Aaron (wife, Kelsey) Plawecki and Erika (husband, Chad) Heath; great grandchildren, Kasen and Krew Plawecki and Grayson Heath.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Myers.
