Dolores J. Swallow, age 79, passed away July 11, 2023, in Zephyrhills, Florida. Dolores was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on January 11, 1944, to Lloyd and Shelby (Planck) Skeel.

 

Dolores graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1962. She was an Inside Sales Representative for Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. (formerly Gage Co and Central Rubber & Supply), retiring in 2009 after almost 45 years of service. Dolores was a resident of Zionsville, Indiana for over 30 years. In 2012 she relocated to Zephyrhills, Florida where she enjoyed many years of volunteering, being the park librarian, meeting new people, and enjoying all the great activities. Dolores was an avid reader, and her collection of books was donated to the park library.

 

Dolores is survived by companion Richard Leugers; daughters Deanne (Kenny) Dalton and Laurie (David) Hicks; grandchildren Jessica (Jeff) Orr and Zakary Hicks; great-grandchildren Brendan, Tyler, Morgan, Chase, Jasper, and Jameson; sister Deborah (Gary) Greene; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, son Ritchie Skeel, husband Larry Swallow, her brothers Ed and Bob Skeel, and her beloved dog Kayla.

 

A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Zionsville Cemetery. Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville is assisting the family with arrangements.
