Dianne Sue McFarland

Dianne Sue McFarland (Felber), of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away at age 78 on March 17, 2026. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 19, 1947, to Wilbert and Mabel Felber. In her youth, she was a member of Job’s Daughters and was installed as Honored Queen of Bethel 94 (Castleton). Dianne graduated from North Central High School in 1965. She later earned a Bachelor of Arts in French from Butler University in 1970. While at Butler, she was a member of Trianon sorority, served as president of the French Club, and sang in the university choir.

Dianne will be remembered for her curiosity and open-hearted acceptance of others. She found joy in the quiet beauty of nature, often making up little stories about the animals she saw. She also loved music and movies, with a special fondness for Elvis. Much of her life was devoted to caring for her parents, a reflection of her steady devotion and deep sense of family. As a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church, she attended Northminster Presbyterian (Indianapolis) and later Greenwood Presbyterian.

She is survived by her son, Michael McFarland (Erica) and grandsons, Wyatt and Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Mabel, and her brother, William “Bill” Felber.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Washington Park North Cemetery. There will be no reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Central Choir Parent Organization in Dianne’s memory.
