Diane Michelle Sikich

May 15, 1953 — August 9, 2025

Noblesville

Diane Michelle Sikich, 72, of Noblesville, Indiana, died on Aug. 9, 2025, after a years-long battle with breast cancer. She was a loving wife, mom and grandmother who cherished her family.

Diane was born May 15, 1953, in Gary, Indiana. She graduated from Andrean High School in 1971 and worked for 24 years for Merrillville Community Schools.

She married Victor John Sikich on Aug. 25, 1973, at Holy Family Church in Gary and raised her family in Merrillville. She enjoyed, at different times in her life, aerobics, cross stitching, reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family. In truth, she probably spent more time hanging on for dear life on rollercoasters and less time reading on the beach than she would have chosen. But that's how giving of a mother she was.

She is survived by her husband, her son Christopher Patrick Sikich, her daughter-in-law Stephanie Wang and her beloved granddaughters Lucy Anne Sikich and Riley Michelle Sikich of Carmel, Indiana.

In other words, she was surrounded by men early in life, but the tables turned much to her delight later on. She relished buying girly gifts for her daughter-in-law and granddaughters.

She also is survived by her sisters, Gail (Tony) Canganelli of Darien, Illinois, Cherie (Mike) Lulich, of Plainfield, Indiana, and Lisa (Curtis) McLean, of Wisconsin; her aunt Sandy Drohan of Michigan and her uncle Jim Hutton of Valparaiso, Indiana; brothers-in-law Frank Sikich of Texas, John (Linda) Sikich of St. John, Indiana, Perry Stabler of Hammond, Indiana; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Constance M. and Richard "Dick" Dent, of Valparaiso; her aunt Bev Hutton of Valparaiso; her uncles Mark Drohan of Michigan, Jim "Red" Drohan of Gary and Tim Dent of Gary; and her sister-in-law Patricia Sikich of Texas.
