Indianapolis

Diana Smith, 71, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 15, 2024. She was born on December, 6th, 1952, to the parents of Don and Betty Matthews. After graduating from Arsenal Tech High School, Diana married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Smith on January 29th, 1972, and was blessed with 3 wonderful children.

Diana started working for the hospital as a phlebotomist and held many titles during her lengthy career until she retired in 2016. After retirement, Diana enjoyed spending more time with her family, and gardening. She loved to crochet and took up the hobby of doing diamond art painting. She looked forward to her monthly breakfasts with her friends. Family was everything to her. She was at every meet, game, performance, etc. She tried not to miss a single one. She absolutely enjoyed any family gatherings from cookouts to holidays.

Diana always put her family and friends first. She was a selfless woman that brought an abundance of joy and love to this world. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

Diana was survived by her loving husband of over 50 years Kenneth; her wonderful children Brian (April) Smith, Erica (Michael) Henderson and Amber (Greg) Worden. Her grandchildren, Cory and Cody Smith, Hannah, Hayden, Helana and Hattie Jones, Madison Worden, and Kylee Henderson. Great-Grandchildren Brielle Smith and Naomi Settles. Her sister Carol (Michael) Stephens. Along with her nieces and a large amount of extended family.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents Don and Betty Matthews, her sister Susan Kutche, and grandson Kyle Henderson.

Diana did not wish for any type of services, as she hated the thought of anybody hurting or being in pain. The family has decided to honor her wishes. She will be cremated and her ashes will be later entombed with her husband.
