Devon Marcus Sylvester, 22, of Zionsville was called home to his Savior on June 11, 2013. Devon was born in Indianapolis on January 21, 1991. He attended Zionsville Community High School and Ivy Tech, and was a landscaper with Riley's Lawn Service of Carmel.
Devon enjoyed country music and liked all sports. He particularly enjoyed playing golf and basketball. He played freshman football at ZCHS. Devon was a prankster and had a gift for making people laugh. In recent months, Devon's faith again became very important to him, and his parents Larry and Donna find great comfort knowing that Devon is safely home in Heaven. Devon was baptized in April of 1991 and was confirmed in May of 2005.
Devon is survived by his parents Larry F. and Donna Keating Sylvester; his siblings Deanna Keating, Angie Mendenhall, and Gregory Sylvester; his grandmother Elma Blomberg; his God-parents Jim and Paula Sylvester and Joyce Jordan; and his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his dog Abbey, who slept on his bed each night.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 1 to 4 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 13225 Illinois Street, Carmel, IN 46032. Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Contributions in Devon's memory may be made to the church.
