Dennis Paul Silvers

Dennis Paul Silvers, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 17, 2021.  He was born on November 11, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late Marion and Martha (Grubaugh) Silvers.

Dennis served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War.  He was injured in combat, but with his humble nature he chose to decline the Purple Heart.  Upon his return home from the military he went to work as a Machinist with Western Electric.

Dennis was very active in his church, Warren Baptist, serving regularly as an usher, greeter and serving on the cleaning crew.  He was supported and loved by his church family and he enjoyed the time he spent there in worship.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Tom Silvers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 10-11am at Warren Baptist Church with a funeral service immediately following.  Dennis will be laid to rest with his parents in Washington Park East Cemetery.
