Dennis E. Sharp

Dennis E. Sharp 78, Indianapolis passed away January 27, 2013 at Methodist Hospital. He was born May 1, 1934 in Burkesville, Kentucky the son of Lucy (White) and Eular Sharp. Dennis retired from Olin/Bridgeport Brass after 44 Years of faithful service. He was a self-taught musician from the age of 6. His love of music gave him the opportunity to share his talent with various bands over the years, the most recent being "Ruby and the Country Boys", who played most Friday nights at the Mooresville Senior Citizen Center. He always drew large crowds wherever he played. He is now playing his red guitar in Heaven. Dennis was a member of Westside Church of Christ. Dennis is survived by the love of his life, Betty Jean, (Spear) Sharp; son, Bobby E. (Gail) Sharp, Indianapolis; daughter, Vicky A. (Randy) Gott, Mooresville; 4 grandchildren, Clifton E. Sharp, Leslie A. (Patrick) Clark, Chelsy L. and Myranda N. Gott; great grandchildren, Layla and Nora Clark; sister, Madie Brown, Burkesville, KY; brothers, Fred (Juanita) Sharp and Grady (Mary) Sharp both of Indianapolis and numerous nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gregory W. Sharp and a sister, Maymie (Sharp) Hopper.. Services will be 10:00 A.M. January 31, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. January 30, 2013 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mooresville Senior Citizen Center.
