Dema C. Mccord

Dema C. McCord, 85, of Indianapolis passed away March 3, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Oaklandon, IN the daughter of Christian H. and Zoe (Kelley) McConnell. She retired from the State of Indiana where she was an IBM Data Entry Operator and was awarded the Sagamore of The Wabash upon her retirement. Dema and her husband Clyde were very active with the Boy Scouts, Dema served as a Den Mother. She was also very active with the concession program at John Marshall High School where her son Russell was on the football team. Dema was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde E. McCord and sisters, Nella Rieman, Doris Crossland, Christina Sparks and Dorothy Bailey; and niece, Nella Blunk.

Dema is survived by her son, Russell E. McCord and his wife Debra; grandchildren, Paul Miller and Christine Todd; great-grandchildren, Roger Willoughby, Jim Foster, Sydnye Todd, Gwen Miller and Gabriel Miller; nieces and nephews, Johna Walls, Paula Davies, Dorothy Cheshier, Chris Rieman, Fred Bailey, and Becky Hobbs.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, March 7, 2016 at at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Burial in Washington Park East Cemetery.
