Delores V. Ostemeier Pollard, 83 of Indianapolis, IN died, Saturday, October 9. She was born August 4, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Michael and Catherine Ostermeier. Delores worked for Eli Lilly and Co. prior to marrying her loving husband of 35 years the late John R. Pollard. She was a parishioner of St. Matthew Catholic Church, where she was an active volunteer at the Parish School. Delores was also a past member of the Crossroads Guild and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, the IU Hoosiers, and the Indianapolis Colts. Her other passions could be easily summed up as Crossword Puzzles, Game Shows, and Animals of all Kinds. As a loving grandmother she is fondly remembered as the greatest of cooks, with her celebrated Caramel Brownies being a family favorite. Delores is survived by her step-children, Linda Lane, Frank (Jean) Pollard, and John (Melissa) Pollard; nephew, Michael (Cynthia) Smith, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 13 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Broad Ripple. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. October 14, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Indianapolis. Burial will follow at Brownsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews Catholic Church or the Ronald McDonald House.
