Delbert R. Self, 90, of Indianapolis passed away Feb. 22, 2017.
Dell was born on November 1, 1926 to the late Delbert L. Self and Gladys Warrenburg in Indianapolis. He enjoyed camping, horse riding, calling square dances, the outdoors and sports of all kinds. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, and retired from Davidson Lumber Company in Southport.
Dell is survived by 2 daughters, 3 step daughters, and 1 son; Richard (Judy), Tina (Craig), Dena, Gloria (Jim), Joyce (Denis), Carol (Jim); 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Alice. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia West Murry Self; 1 sister, Delice; and 1 brother, Tom.
A visitation will take place from 10:00am-12:00pm on Monday, Feb. 27, with a service to follow at noon at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East.
