Debra P. Sewell

Debra P. “Debbie” Sewell of Indianapolis, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. Debbie was born on May 6, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Robert and Edna Smith (Hopper). She was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis and graduated from Northwest High School. Debbie stayed home with her children while they were young and then began working in food service for Wayne Township Schools until retirement.

 Debbie will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 50 years, Bernard Sewell, Jr.; daughters Susan (Eddy) Sanchez and Stephanie (Scott) Hulett; sons Scott (Samantha) Sewell and Steven (Marah) Sewell; grandchildren Thomas, Lucy, Andrew, Braydn, Mason, Elijah, Ellis, and Maverick; sister Janet (Randy) Thomas; and brothers Phillip Smith and David (Melissa) Smith.  

 Debbie enjoyed finding “treasures” at antique malls, working puzzles, going on short road trips, and spending time with her family. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and compassion. She faced every obstacle with bravery and a positive outlook. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed by her family and friends,

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan - Speedway. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Debbie will be laid to rest at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
