Debra Gaye Livingston, 73, of Avon, passed away on June 11, 2026 at her residence. Debra was born in Los Angeles, CA, on Feb. 7, 1953, to Robert and Mary Lumley, and attended Bell Gardens High School. She met her late husband, Norman Livingston, in the late 1980s. They promptly moved to Terre Haute, IN, where she spent most of her adult life. She attended some college nursing classes at Ivy Tech Community College. She worked various jobs in factory and retail settings, retiring from Wal-Mart to help care for her husband in 2015. Debra was a loving mother and grandmother who was loved by all who she encountered.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lumley; mother, Mary Lumley (Langmack); and husband, Norman Livingston. She is survived by her brother, Scott Lumley (Stephanie); sisters Gayle Nix (Willie) and Janine McDow (Rick); five children and their spouses: Trisha Paul (Joe), Christina Belleu (Shane), Rosina Kozlowski (Larry), James Stufflebeam (Vicki), and Jesse Stufflebeam; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Debbie was an animal lover who never turned away a stray cat. She loved reading books, specifically Stephen King novels. As a teenager and young adult, she loved going to the beach at the Pacific Ocean. Once she moved to Indiana, she would visit her family in California as much as she could. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. Her other hobbies included: painting, crocheting blankets, crossword puzzles and writing stories for children. Her family members would tell you she would give a stranger the shirt off her back and help whenever she was able. She will be dearly missed but forever loved.
Debbie will be cremated and have a personal family gathering. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter.
