Debra Lynn Brown

April 9, 1958 — December 30, 2025

Avon, Ohio

Debra Lynn Brown passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 7:13 a.m., at the age of 67. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, faith and deep care for others.

Debra was an amazing, enduring woman—full of life, spunk, and strength. In the later years of her life, she faced significant health challenges, yet she remained feisty, funny, and deeply engaging. Her warmth and sense of humor were felt by many, including those who cared for her during that time. Even as her circumstances changed, she remained funny, engaging, and fully herself.

At 67, Debra was young to have endured so much. She came close to death many times, and her family is profoundly grateful for the extra time they were given with her—time to reconnect and be together.

Debra lived a sanctified life. While she endured hardship at both the beginning and end of her journey, she used the years in between to grow herself and explore her interests. She loved learning, writing, books, art and music, and through these passions she showed those around her how rich and meaningful life can be, regardless of circumstance. Many of her loved ones’ fondest memories are rooted in what she shared, taught, and inspired through her curiosity and intellect.

Debra’s faith was a guiding force in her life. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she found joy in serving others in quiet, meaningful ways. Even after she was no longer mobile, she looked for opportunities to uplift and encourage those around her—always supporting what mattered to them. Her faith shaped the way she loved: generously, thoughtfully, and without condition.

Debra will be remembered for her humor, her generosity of spirit, and the deep love she held for her family. Her influence lives on through the lives she touched and the example she set—one her family hopes to honor and emulate in the years to come.

Debra is survived by her eternal companion, Timothy Alden Brown; her children, Jaclyn Nicole Kelshaw, Tara LeRe Denham (Jason), Dayton Lee Trinkle, and stepson Matthew Alden Brown; her brother, Earl D. Marlette; and her grandchildren, Alexandra J. Arick, Autumn N. Kelshaw, Drue C. Trinkle, Milton D. Kelshaw, Bijoux S. Arick, Jaiden R. Kelshaw, Xena K. Arick, and Dayse M. Trinkle, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, at 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with entombment at 3:00 p.m., all at Washington Park North Cemetery, 2702 Kessler Blvd., Indianapolis, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Debra’s name to Children’s Hunger Fund (https://childrenshungerfund.org/). Debra cared deeply about children and could not stand the idea of anyone going hungry.
