Deborah Starr Darling Slavens

Deborah Starr Darling Slavens (affectionately known by family and friends as Deb or Debbie), 65, passed away on September 5, 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana. A memorial service will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral home on September 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
Deb was born to William Ernest Darling and Rema Joyce Allman on March 22, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She had two sisters, Robin Duncan and Stacey Bernard. As, a child Deb resided in Indianapolis.
On May 9, 1970, Deb married Russell Slavens. Russell was a member of the Indianapolis Police Department and served in the Vietnam War. They had twin sons, Scott and Brian. Russ and Deb made Brownsburg, Indiana their permanent home in 1971.
Deb was primarily a homemaker and provided great support to her husband and children. She also worked in the cafeteria at the school her boys attended and later became a teacher's aid.
Deb had two granddaughters: Olivia Starr Slavens and Hayely Rene Slavens both of Plainfield. Deb's later years were spent spoiling both girls and filling their lives with love.
Her father, William, preceded Deb in death. Her mother Joyce McIntire, her husband Russell, her son and daughter in law Scott and Mindy, her son and daughter in law Brian and Erin, her granddaughters Olivia and Hayley and her sisters Robin Duncan and Stacey Bernard, survive her.
