Deborah Colleen Irwin

Deborah Colleen Irwin, age 73, passed away in her home surrounded by family on January 19^th, 2024. She was born July 17^th, 1950 in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota to James and Dolores Rice. She was raised in a farming community in Edmore, North Dakota. Deb was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Mitchell “Mick” Rice, and her husband Stephen Irwin.

Deb came to Indiana after briefly being a bus line stewardess in St. Louis, Missouri. On October 24^th, 1976 she married Stephen “Steve” Irwin of Indianapolis who preceded her in death in 2016. Steve and Deb lived, worked, and raised a family in Zionsville, Indiana. For many years, Deb worked hard carrying mail for the USPS in Lebanon and Zionsville then worked as a local florist until grandchildren came.

Deb enjoyed her family and friends immensely. She was known for her easy going nature, her love for the beach, and for being a wonderful Nana to her grandchildren. Deb was a member of Zionsville Fellowship church where she cherished many friendships, especially after Steve’s passing.

Deb is survived by her brother Thomas (Marta) Rice, her son Michael (Shaun) Irwin, her daughter Rachel (Matt) Beauchamp, and her beloved grandchildren Allison Irwin, Kaitlyn Irwin, Hailey Jo Irwin, Jacob Beauchamp, and Maggie Beauchamp. She will be missed every day.

Please join us for a visitation and funeral service on Monday, January 29^th at Zionsville Fellowship church located at 9090 W. Oak St in Zionsville. Visitation services will be from 10:00am – 12:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. A graveside burial will immediately follow at Union Lutheran Cemetery.
