Deborah Fortune

May 30, 1961 — April 19, 2015

Deborah Elaine Fortune, 53, of Indianapolis, passed away April 19, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Debbie was born in Indianapolis, the daughter of Carter and Wendy (Mueller) Fortune. She earned a BS Degree in Communications from Butler University, and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was a pharmaceutical sales representative for Eli Lilly and Co. for a number of years and also developed sales for many other companies in her career. She was a member of the Indianapolis Garden Club and supported several local charities. Debbie supported The Fortune Academy of Indianapolis and several organizations devoted to equestrian therapy and riding skills. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Carter Fortune. Debbie was a devoted and loving mother and is survived by her son, Cole Fortune Hunter and her daughter, Elizabeth Fortune Hunter; her mother and step-father, Wendy Fortune Neal and Thomas Neal; sister, Heather Lacy; brother, Russell C. Fortune; step brother, David W. Neal and step sister, Sarah Neal Estes; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Francis In-The Fields Episcopal Church, 1525 Mulberry Street, Zionsville, IN 46077. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Fortune Academy, www.thefortuneacademy.org or Front Range Equine Rescue, www.frontrangeequinerescue.org. A memorial celebration will be held for Debbie at Woodstock Club, 1301 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208 following services at St. Francis In-The Fields.
