Dean Erwin Meister, born on September 6, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on May 16, 2025. He was the cherished son of the late Robert and Betty Meister and spent his life rooted in love, hard work, and devotion to those he held dear.

Dean shared 33 beautiful years with the love of his life, Julie (Tarter) Meister. They were married on August 26, 2004, and together built a life full of laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for their family.

A proud husband, dad, and papaw, Dean was the heart of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Julie, his children Kevin Meister and Jennifer Kortz, and his treasured grandchildren Jayson Johnson, Kaiden Meister, Austin Meister, Jordan Strong, Summer Lynn Meister, Jazmin Allen, and Justice Allen. He also leaves behind his dear sister Cheryl Carson, as well as his niece and nephew, Natalie Tavernier and Nathan Noblitt.

Dean had a passion for the outdoors—he loved to hunt and fish, and he never missed a good NASCAR race. Known for his work ethic and dedication, Dean was a skilled automotive painter for over 30 years, working at various locations and earning a reputation as a jack of all trades. He was a true provider, always putting his family first.

Among his many joys in life, Dean had a special fondness for his Black Dodge Ram truck, a symbol of the simple pleasures and pride he found in his work and hobbies.

Above all else, Dean loved his family fiercely. His legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan—Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN, 46229, from 12PM-2PM. A funeral service will begin at 2PM.
