Dawn Marie Pehler

We are celebrating the life of Dawn Marie Pehler, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, roommate, friend, and willing partner-in-fun. Dawn was a joyful, adventurous, and deeply memorable presence in the lives of those who knew her. She had a quick wit, a generous laugh, and a playful spirit, and she was always ready to push the boundaries of whatever the group was planning next. If there was a bit of mischief to be had, Dawn was often the first to embrace it, bringing energy and laughter wherever she went.

Dawn was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary parish and grade school community, and attended both Cathedral High School and Broad Ripple High School, where she participated in band and cherished her time with the Off Broad Ripple Choir, graduating in 1987. She later attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin.

In addition to Indianapolis, Dawn enjoyed living in West Palm Beach, Florida, and Denver, Colorado, each place reflecting a different side of her love for the ocean and the mountains, and adding to the richness of her life and her love of new experiences. She loved to travel and found joy in scuba diving throughout the Caribbean and Central America, as well as spending time outdoors riding her motorcycle, snowmobiling, and hiking. Dawn also had a deep love for animals, and her family was happily expanded over the years to include many beloved cats and dogs.

Dawn will be remembered for her love of mangoes, ice in a big glass of milk, cherry Italian ices, and playing euchre, especially when teaching her nieces and nephews. Her adventurous heart, playful nature, and the warmth she shared so freely with family and friends brought life and laughter into every room. She will always be cherished for the joy she brought to those around her.
