David Phillip Wolsiffer of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born in Indianapolis, IN, on December 25, 1948, to parents, William and Loretta (Bauman) Wolsiffer who predeceased him.
David was a graduate of Scecina Memorial High School and Indiana State University. After Industrial Arts (wood shop) teaching assignments at Arsenal Technical High School (Indianapolis) and Whiteland (Indiana) Community Schools, David decided to pursue a musical career on the road with a core band of friends and local acquaintances. “Super Dave” had the knack to “Read the Room” and always attempted to entertain the audience.
He is survived by one brother Steve Wolsiffer and nieces Carol Osmon, Christy Millikan, Kim Wolsiffer and Karen Wilson. David is also survived by his adopted family with companion/partner of 32 years Diane Coady. Diane’s family includes 5 daughters: Sue Christner, Shannon Coady, Jill Onion, Stephanie Koerner, Jenny Auer and a total of 9 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s honor may be made to the doner’s favorite charity.
A Memorial Gathering will be held prior to services from 11am – 1pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery – Good Shepherd Chapel (9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250). Burial will follow services at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
