David Lee Brunner

David Lee Brunner, 80, of Camby, Indiana passed away September 11, 2021. He was born August 4, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Herbert and Mary E. (Hancock) Brunner. David was a career firefighter with the Indianapolis Fire Department for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. David was a member of the Indianapolis Firefighters Union Local #416, Indianapolis Fire Retirees Club, Indianapolis Firefighters Emerald Society, Indianapolis Oldtimers Club, former member of American Legion Post #64 and Eagles Lodge #3988, volunteered at the Indianapolis Firefighters Museum, the USS Indianapolis Reunion, and with the retired firefighters’ eulogy team. He attended Valley Mills Christian Church. David was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene (Newland) Brunner, his daughter, DeAnna Lee (Peter) Poon, granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Poon, his sisters, Marcia Havens, Cindy (Mark) Loftus, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township with his service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors. The family has requested all visitors wear a facemask and observe social distancing during the time you are with them at the funeral home.
