David Lawrence Hankins

78, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on June 24, 2020 in Brownsburg, Indiana.  David was born on March 19, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a machinist and supervisor at ITT Hoffman Specialty for 25 years and a machinist at Peerless Pump for 10 years.  He ended his career retiring from Amtrak after 8 years in Beech Grove, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Karen (White) Hankins; mother, Marie Richards; father, Jesse Lawrence Hankins and brothers, Bill and Jim McFarland.  He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Sam) Luppino and Shannon (David) Kerl; grandchildren, James David (Kendra), Joshua (Melody) and Jacob (Amber) Luppino and Britni and Matthew Kerl; great-grandchildren, Leonardo, Karaleigh and Felicity Luppino and brother, Gary Grubb.  Visitation will be Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 1 pm with a service at 2 pm at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park.  Interment will take place at a later date.
