David J. Shaw

David J. Shaw, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away June 23. David was born July 2, 1954 to David R. and Alvera M. (Baldwin) Shaw. He was a 1972 graduate of Warren Central High School and was an avid golfer, sports nut, and Jimmy Buffett fan. He was a proud father of two talented, beautiful young ladies. He loved boating and water, especially the ocean. He was fond of Hemingway and history books, particularly political biographies. David had worked as a logistics broker and most recently as a business consultant. He was a member of Northview Church where he was very active. He was a mentor and encourager of many people and was an enthusiastic, joyful help in several church ministry areas. David was a genuine, quick-witted man who put people at ease and often made them laugh. He loved God and always found things for which to be grateful. David's faith in Christ enabled him to enjoy life to the fullest and he was a "bright spot" in many lives.. There are no words to do him adequate justice. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alvera Shaw in 2000. He is survived by his adoring wife, Veronica J. "Jeannie" (Wilks) Shaw; daughters, Nita Douglas of Cincinnati, OH and Erin Shaw of Boston, MA; his father, David R. Shaw of Indianapolis; his brother, Norman Shaw of California and a sister Ellynn Stein of Fisher, IN. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Wednesday. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
