David Allen Harden

David Allen Harden, 78, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on July 21, 2026. He was born on October 26, 1947, in Indianapolis, to the late Virgil and Anna Mae Harden.

Dave’s journey began in his early school years at Crooked Creek Elementary, followed by Westlane Middle School, and then North Central High School. He furthered his education at both Ball State and Indiana University, experiences that set the foundation of work and determination.

From a young age, Dave started to work with his father at the IndyStar, a weekend job he began when he was just 18. This commitment helped provide opportunities for his children, Ellen and Matt, to attend the colleges of their choice. Dave excelled as a salesman, dedicating the majority of his career to Pella Windows. He had a particular appreciation for fine wood windows, and nothing made him happier than closing a successful deal.

Dave found happiness on the golf course with friends and his brother-in-law. He enjoyed reading the works of James Patterson and watching Seinfeld reruns.

Dave traveled throughout the continental United States for work and even appreciated the long drives. Oftentimes, Dave would convince his wife, Mimi, to go on trips with him, even though she was not as enthusiastic about traveling. He would also take the time to go to Florida to visit family.

He liked attending horse races, where he could place a small bet and enjoy a nice dinner. Dave liked eating at local restaurants, including Hardees, John Stew, Big Boy in Anderson, and Mug and Bun, to name a few.

Nothing was more important to Dave than his family. He held his children and grandchildren closest to his heart. A loving and supportive father and grandfather, he wanted nothing more than to see his loved ones thrive. He believed deeply in the values of hard work and dedication, and found true delight in gathering around a delicious meal, especially if it involved a delicious dessert.

Those who knew Dave will remember him as loyal, stubborn, always kind, hardworking, and a great listener. His wit, down-to-earth demeanor, and easygoing nature made him a joy to be around. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty.

Dave is survived by his loving spouse, Mimi; children, Matt (Nici) Harden and Ellen (Kevin) Hammond; and grandchildren, Alex Harden, Emma Harden, Elizabeth Hammond, Eli Hammond, and Grant Hammond.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, from 10am to 12pm, with a Funeral Service at 12pm, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN 46032.
