It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of David Lee Fry, a devoted father, cherished family member, and loyal friend, who left this world on February 22, 2026, at the age of 88.
David was the embodiment of kindness and compassion. A loving father above all else, he devoted his life to caring for and supporting his wife Alberta who preceded him in death in 2002, his children, three generations of grandchildren, his family and friends - always placing their needs before his own. His steady guidance, warm hugs, and quiet strength were constant in their lives. He taught by example — showing the value of integrity, generosity, patience, and unconditional love. Those who knew David will remember his gentle spirit, his generous heart, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome.
He had a remarkable way of listening without judgment and offering advice with wisdom and humility. Whether through a reassuring smile, a thoughtful conversation, or a simple act of service, he touched countless lives. He found joy in life’s simple blessings — time spent with family, coaching and watching baseball, laughter around the dinner table, helping a neighbor, or sharing stories that grew better with each telling. His love created a home filled with warmth, safety, and acceptance.
David is survived by his beloved children, David B. Fry of Indianapolis, Indiana; Kimberly A. Williams of Austin, Texas; Vincent T. Fry of Panama City Beach, Florida and Brittany N. Fry of Indianapolis, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the years we were given with him. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the love he gave so freely, and the countless memories we will forever cherish.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, Indiana on March 3, 2026, with a visitation from 11-12pm and service to follow at noon. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
