David E. Rhodes, 88, of Indianapolis died peacefully in his sleep on May 4, 2018.
David was born July 12, 1929 in Canton, Ohio to Clarence E. Rhodes and Margaret G. Graber Rhodes. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and served as the Branch Manager for the Audit Agency for the Department of Defense (DCAA) for over 35 years.
He enjoyed traveling the islands with his wife, golf, and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Beverly “Raven” Rhodes; children Greg Rhodes (Nancy), Gary Rhodes (Vickie), RaeAnne Staab, Gordon Rhodes, and Dana Lesh (Mark); grandchildren Amber, Trisha, Ashley, Kyle, Marc, Missy, Aidan, and Aaron; great-grandchildren Parker, Rhys, Dean, Rebecca, Rheyanna, Elliot, and one on the way; brother Jim Rhodes, and sister Dianne McQuarrie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 8 from 12 to 4 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis with a Funeral Service beginning at 4 PM. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Washington Park East Cemetery.
