David L. Dye, 61, of Westfield, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023. Dave was born November 30, 1962 in Indianapolis to the late Robert L. and Wenona D. Dye. Dave was a loving husband of Lisa for 34 years. He was also a proud father of his son, Jordan.
Dave graduated from Carmel High School in 1981, and earned his Computer Degree at PCI. He worked as the Lab Manager at the Zionsville Wastewater Treatment Plant, and prior to that as a Lab Technician at the Carmel Wastewater Treatment Plant. He was a Class IV Wastewater Operator. At the time of his passing, he was looking forward to a new position as a Mail Carrier for the Westfield Post Office.
Dave had a lifelong interest in classic cars and motorcycles. One of Dave’s passions was being outside and working in his yard. You could often find him standing in his yard talking to a neighbor or greeting the neighborhood dogs that all loved him the best. His smile and kindness was freely offered to anyone who needed a hand or some encouragement. He was always looking for ways to help others, whether that was by faithfully mowing the neighbors’ yard or cutting the base paths of a wiffle ball field in his backyard for the neighbor kids to play on. Dave was witty, had a huge heart, and a smile on his face as he fiercely loved and took care of those around him.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 13 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
Dave is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Jordan V. Dye, sister, Michelle Livingstone; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
