David Joe Cunningham was born December 16, 1951 to Melvin and Martha Cunningham in Indianapolis, Indiana. He died February 27, 2013 after a long courageous battle with Marfans and acute leukemia.
David graduated from Pike High School in 1970 where he was a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. He graduated from Thomas Edison College, Ft Meyers Florida in 1972. He also attended Butler University.
David was a fire fighter at Washington and Pike Townships. He was also Chief at Pike Township. He was owner and president of MLCunningham Inc.
David was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Traders Point Christian Church. He dearly loved Jesus and his family. He was an avid boater and thoroughkly enjoyed being on the water. He was a race car enthusiast, watching and attending IndyCar, NASCAR and others.
Surviving are his wife, Brooke; son, David Joe II "DJ"; loving stepchildren, Bryelle, Brandy and Zachariah. He is also survived by his sisters, Ann (Bob) Graves, Nita Cunningham (Walter Lott), and Judy (Steve) Weidler; eight grandsons, and his children, Nicolas and Lauren Cunningham.
He was predeceased by his parents Melvin and Martha Cunningham.
