David B. Armitage

David B. Armitage Age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born to David V. and Pauline (Mitchell) Cook on February 6, 1940 and was the second of three children. After attending Thomas Carr Howe High School he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. David and Gloria (Blackwell) married on October 19,1963 in Indianapolis. David is preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna Smith and grandson Matthew Spivey. Left to hold forever in their hearts are his wife, his six children; Jennifer (Chuck) Spivey, Lynda (Brian) Henderson, Sam (Dawn) Armitage, Amy Armitage, Ben (Roxanna) Armitage and Jeremiah (Jessie) Armitage; fourteen grandchildren, David, Michael, Jonathan and Nathaniel Spivey; Jacob, Joshua, Joel and Jaclyn Henderson; Rachel and Noah Armitage; Savannah Armitage; Dustin, Zachary and Daniel Armitage; sister Casey (Roy) Peck. David willingly participated in Cancer research experimental procedures/treatments in the hope that his sons and/or grandsons would not endure the pain and suffering as he had.
