CARMEL – Dave Paetzmann, 60, passed away on May 26, 2018 in the arms of his family. Dave was born in Hammond, Indiana on August 8, 1957 to George Edward Jr. and Phyllis Diane (Woody) Paetzmann.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Holland Detke; mother, Phyllis Paetzmann; two daughters, Glennyce Paetzmann and Sarah (Collin) Marone; two stepsons, Jackson and Clayton Detke; granddaughter, Lillian Marone; brother, George (Kay) Paetzmann III; sister, Janet Cobb; and nephew, Michael Cobb. He was preceded in passing by his father and granddaughter, Charlotte Marone.
David graduated cum laude from Indiana State University with his Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington. He retired in 2017, as Deputy Attorney General for the state of Indiana after 24 years of service devoted to consumer protection. He loved Chicago sports, live music, and volunteering his time with USA Swimming and the Indiana Historical Society.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be directed to Outrun the Sun. Online condolences may be made by visiting flannerbuchanan.com.
