Dave L. Cox Sr. of Indianapolis, died February 28, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 68. Dave was born January 25, 1945 in Indianapolis to Robert and August Cox. In 1979 he married Margaret L. Coomer in Indianapolis. He worked as a journeyman book binder for 32 years at Rand McNally. He then spent 11 years as a machine operator for IPT in Greenfield. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He will be remembered as the comedian of the family who enjoyed every minute as a loving husband, father, grandpa, and papaw. He will be truly missed and never forgotten. Dave is survived by his wife of 33 years Margaret L. Cox; son David L. (Dana) Cox Jr and his children Danielle (Zach) Stack and Deanna Cox and David's grandchildren Gracie, Lily, and Georgia; daughter Barb (Kerry) Kilgore and her children Brittany (Ian) Nickerson and Brianna Kilgore; daughter Mary (Jerry) White and her children Kyle, Shelby, and Jeremy White; daughter-in-law Angie Smith (wife of the late son Richard Smith) and their children Matt and Sara Smith and Angie's grandchildren Shaylee, Ian, and EJ; son Bruce (Lisa) Smith and their children Casey and Cody Smith and grandchild Marley Smith; sister Alice Ransdell and brother Richard Cox, and his dog Lucy. He was preceded in death by his son Richard Smith; 2 twin granddaughters Kellie and Karla White; sister Lillie Mae; brothers Evert, Robert, and Charlie Cox; and his beloved dog Turbo. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 3 from 2 to 8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, March 4 Flanner and Buchanan with entombment following at Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dave's memory may be made to the Little Red Door Cancer Agency, 1801 N Meridian St Indianapolis, IN 46202.
