Darryll Monte Pingleton

In Loving Memory of Darryll Monte Pingleton who peacefully passed from this life on October 11, 2023.

He passed at home, surrounded by family, with his wife by his side. Darryll was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Monte and Dorothy (McMurray) Pingleton and one of seven children.

Darryll worked as an electrician for 27 years at Rolls Royce before retiring in 2012. He was a UAW member of Local 933 and worked as one of the editors of the UAW magazine, named The Rocket. He was also a member of LUPA (Local Union Press Association). In his retirement, he enjoyed his time perfecting his talent for wood crafting and spending his time with his family. He became an avid advocate for his grandson, Grayson, who has Autism.

Darryll is survived by his loving wife, Janet (Durham) Pingleton of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by his 5 daughters: Paula (John) Jessup of Shirley, IN. April (Charlie) Kreie, JoAnna (Micheal) Wheeler of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Bobbie (Bradley) King of Danville, IN., and Michaella (Aman Singh) Hommel-Nijjar of Indianapolis. His son: James (Sarah) Leach, is also of Indianapolis. His grandchildren: Victoria (Destany) Hensley, Mikaela (Garrett) Hornaday, Nick Lacovacci, Aerin Kreie, Ian Kreie, Zoe’ King, Tanner King, Mia (Eric Rosado) Campbell, Kira Campbell, Gabriel Campbell and Grayson Hommel. He is also survived by 3 great-grandsons: Lawson and Brooks Hornaday; and Elias Rosado; Brother: Roger (Donna) Pingleton, and two sisters, Alice Birkla and Janet Marie Pingleton. A host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Tonya Dee Monet, his brother, John Pingleton, and 2 sisters, Roberta Faye Cole and Denise Bacher.

Darryll was loved by anyone who met him. He will live on in our hearts, forever!
