Danny Lynn Linkous 75 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on April 27, 2024.  He was born October 23, 1948, in Morristown, Tennessee to the late Floyd Elmer and Betty Ann (Jarnigan) Linkous.  Danny was retired as a supervisor and prior to that was a Tool and Die Maker working for both Link Belt and Raybestos.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp while stationed in Vietnam during the war.  It could be said that Danny lived history as he had a passion for and participated in Civil War reenactments for the past 35 years.  He served in the 44th Tennessee Civil War reenactment group and was instrumental in the formation of the Independent Guard for the reenactment community.  Danny was also an avid NASCAR fan especially cheering for Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart when they were still racing.  He was a diehard New York Yankee’s baseball fan and he absolutely enjoyed and looked forward to the long car rides going home to Tennessee, his old stomping grounds. He is survived by his loving wife Deanna (Howell) Linkous, his children, Sara (Jeff) Sichting, Shelley (Phillip) Coleman, Starla Linkous his granddaughter whom they were raising as their child, his other grandchildren, Austin (Steffi), Clay (Hannah), Brittney (Michael), Tanner (Kayla), Kyle (Sarah), Tori, Eden, his great grandchildren, Amelia, Ella, Odon, Easton, Jude, Norman, Willow, his sister, Cathy (Steve) Surber, and his brother, Dean (Kathy) Linkous.   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Jo Linkous, his son, Christopher Thomas Linkous, and his grandson, Dustin Lloyd Sichting.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, 4:00pm-8:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with a Celebration of Danny’s life on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00am at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery. The family request in lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Warrior Horse and the American Lung Association.  The family invites those from the Reenactment Community to come dressed in your Civil War Attire, if you desire, as they would honor your presence with them.  To sign the online guest registry and share your memories and stories with his family you are encouraged to go to www.flannerbuchanan.com
