Danny Wayne Lee Sr.

Danny Wayne Lee, Sr., of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on March 13, 2026. 

He was born on October 19, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Avery and Marian Lee. Danny married the love of his life Elizabeth Allen on September 14, 1957. Their greatest joy in life was their five children.

Danny was a faithful servant of God. He gave his life to the Lord at a young age; faithfulness was woven into every part of his family life. He was blessed with a beautiful voice and was invited to sing at many events and honored the Lord through praise and worship.

Danny proudly served his country in the National Guard. He was also a proud member of the Teamsters and spent many years as a truck driver for Yellow Freight, where he built a reputation as a hardworking and dependable provider who always put his family first. After retiring from truck driving, Danny pursued another passion and obtained his auctioneer’s license, enjoying the opportunity to work alongside Jeff Rich Auctioneer in Cloverdale, IN.

Danny loved horses and shared that passion with his kids and grandkids, teaching them how to care for and ride horses. He often enjoyed going on trail rides, taking his grandkids to 4-H events and following his grandsons to roping’s and rodeos.

Danny was an amazing grandfather and took great pride in his twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. 

Danny is survived by his children, Carla Lee (Toni), Danny W. Lee, Jr., and Julie Peterson (Brent)

Grandchildren; Lindsay, Terah, Hollie, Kyle, Trevor, Heather, Jennifer, Kayla, Clay, Jace, Samuel and Lucas

Great grandchildren; Koy, Broc, Robert, Elijah, Kaelyn, Gavin, Ian, Beau, and Colter, great-great granddaughter; Presley

His brother; Larry Lee, and his brother-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Allen. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Elizabeth Allen Lee, daughter; Tonya Elliott, son; Jeffery Lee, brothers: Richard (Dick) Lee, Howard Lee, Cecil Haworth, Thomas Lee, William (Bill) Lee, sisters: Dorothy Spurgeon, Doris (Dolly) Tutts, Leona Sue Kelley, and Sharon Campbell.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Decatur Township, with a service on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, 10:00 am. Danny will be laid to rest next to his wife Elizabeth at Centerton Cemetery, Centerton, Indiana.
