Daniel Willard Patrick, 79, of Indianapolis passed away onFebruary 1, 2016.
Dan was born on December 13, 1936 to the late Charles WarrenPatrick and Gertrude Pearl Winkler in Seymour, Indiana as the youngest of 8children. He graduated from Seymour High School 1954 and went on to IndianaUniversity where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in business. Aftergraduating from IU Dan went on to serve his country in the US Navy from1958-1960. After his years of service Dan met and married the love of his life,Madonna Jeanette Cantrell on April 26, 1962.
He began his career in accounting with Texas Eastern inSeymour, but moved to Indianapolis after accepting a position at Eli Lilly in1965 and retired in 1993 after 28 years. Dan enjoyed keeping busy as he thenworked for United Package Liquor, People’s / Fifth-Third bank (retired), and asa substitute teacher (retired) working at many schools in Indianapolis, Carmeland Fishers. In his spare time, Dan loved his grandchildren, travelling and takingrides in the country. He was an avid reader, enjoyed yard work, gardening, cooking, history, playing with his dogs,and watching movies, with his favorite being Gone with the Wind and other oldclassic movies.
Dan is survived by his wife Madonna Jeanette, children,Jeffrey Patrick (Julie Roach) and Jennifer Bournique (Patrick Bournique), threegrandchildren, Bradley, Christopher and Evan Patrick, step-grandchildrenAnthony and Megan Roach, and his brother Curtis.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, February 5, 2016from 3:30-7:30pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Connor Suite.A celebration of life will take place at 7:00pm.
