Rev. Daniel Arthur Thomas
A minister for 44 years in the Free Methodist denomination, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Rev. Thomas will be well remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of 67 years, Norma Templeman Thomas; his daughters, Verna (John) Arthur, Virginia (Victor) Dively, Vicki (Mark) Teed; his son, Jonathan; and his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Daniel was born on November 12, 1925, and was the youngest son of Arthur and Lillian (Heck) Thomas. Rev. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II. He attended God's Bible School and College before entering the ministry. In retirement, he continued to serve God by volunteering for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and others. Rev. Thomas reflected the love of Jesus in his daily life and was a compassionate and loving man and a faithful servant of God.
Friends will be received from 4pm until 8pm on Friday, November 21, 2014 and prior to the service on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 12pm until 1pm in Castleton Church of the Nazarene, 7848 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. Funeral service will be held there at 1pm on Saturday, November 22nd, with burial to follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries or Free Methodist World Missions.
