Daniel R. Covert

Dan R. Covert 49, Indianapolis, was born March 16, 1962. He passed away April 30, 2011. Dan was a 1980 graduate of Decatur Central High School, who enjoyed travel, animals, and music. At the age of 27, he lost his vision to Leber Disease, but he continued to live independently with the help of his best friend Wayne Kirtman. Dan is survived by his parents, James R. and Juanita Covert; sisters Diana (Ron) Helmick and Debbie (Terry) Fellers; brother Tim Covert of Georgia; nine nieces and nephews; his aunt Eileen Jones; one cousin Gary Jones. Services will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Decatur Township with calling there on Tuesday, May 3 from 4-8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the National Eye Institute.
