Daniel E. Nelson

Daniel E. Nelson, 43 of Carmel, passed away at his home. Dan was born June 20 1967 in Cleveland, OH. He was a graduate of DePauw University and IU School of Law-Bloomington. Dan worked for Brown County as a Deputy Prosecutor in the Child Support Division. Dan was a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, where he was a former Senior Warden and member of the Vestry. He was also a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, DePauw University Association, Indiana State Bar Association, Carmel High School Football and Wrestling Booster Club and was an IHSAA wrestling referee. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, April 16 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, April 15 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel. Dan is survived by his mother, Kay Nelson Gable and her husband, Jerry; sisters, Laura E. (husband, David) Bloom and Charlotte E. (husband, Paul) Hadley; nephews, Jacob and Harrison Bloom, Alexander Hadley; cousins, Dean, Dale, David and Dennis Petruzzi. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Nelson and his aunt, Joyce Petruzzi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carmel Clay Education Foundation-Wrestling Scholarship or Carmel Clay Library Foundation in care of Regions Bank 14825 Greyhound Ct. Carmel, IN 46032.
