Daniel (Dan) G. Gooliak

December 27, 1953 — June 12, 2023

Carmel, Indiana

Daniel G (Dan) Gooliak was restored on June 12, 2023, after a brave battle with fronto-temporal dementia. Dan never met a stranger, and he had a gift for making people feel special. He attended both Pike High School and Indiana University (Delta Tau Delta), where he lettered in gymnastics. He was a member and deacon at Second Presbyterian Church and volunteered in their food pantry. Dan spent his career in sales and recruiting and, finally, as a hotel concierge. He and his high school sweetheart, Jane, reconnected in 2007 and were married in 2011.

His parents, George and Gail, and brother Robert (Bo) preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Jane, son Andrew (Marguerite), brother Ray, sister Lisa (Mario), niece Olivia, grandchildren Maya, Marianna and George, stepdaughter Emily, stepson Brett (Cori), and step-grandchildren Hadessah, Maddax, Phoebe, Jocelyn, Louis, Amelia, Naomi and Hazel.

Special thanks to the staff at SarahCare, Heritage Woods Noblesville, IU North Hospital, Majestic Care Carmel and Paradigm Hospice, and to those who spent time with him even when it became difficult.

A celebration of Dan’s life will take place on July 22 at Second Presbyterian Church at 1:00p with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your favorite charity, plant a tree, have dinner with family and friends, tip your server generously, buy a stranger’s coffee, travel, enjoy life.
