Daniel Stewart Brown Jr., 66, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away on June 26, 2025. He was born on June 9, 1959, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to parents Daniel S. and Lucille F. Brown. 

Daniel received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bob Jones University, his Master’s in Communication from Miami University of Ohio, and he received his Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Dann was an author of several books and many journal articles. He was active in the National Communication Association and Religious Communication Association. His professional life included serving as Assistant Pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. He then accepted a position at Bryan College in Dayton, TN as a Communication Professor where he developed the Communication Department. He worked there from 1990-1997. After that he taught and directed a two-year commuter program for Indiana Wesleyan University in Indianapolis from 1997-2001. His final position as professor was at Grove City College in Grove City, PA from 2001-2019. While there he developed the Communication Arts Department.

Daniel devoted his life to Christian Higher Education for 35 years. During these years he mentored many students and befriended them as well as continuing to be involved in their lives after graduation.

Daniel loved books and sharing stories. His audiences were captivated by his story-telling ability. In his free time, his hobby was working in our gardens. His dogs, loyal dachshunds, Isabella and Erma, held a special place in his heart. They brought joy and mischief every day. He loved them well. One of his passions was to serve God through small group ministries at several churches over many years.

Dann is survived by his loving wife, Susan Brown. They were married 36 years, sharing a lifetime of good memories They weathered life challenges of trial and triumph always keeping God close in heart as he guided them. They loved to travel together, and Daniel always told Susan, “I love you more”. He is also survived by his brothers, William Brown of Dublin, OH and Glen Brown (Diana) of Byron Center, MI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Daniel will be from 12pm-1pm on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Christ the Savior Lutheran Church – 10500 126th St., Fishers, IN 46038, with a funeral service immediately following at 1pm. The burial will take place at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.
