Damon Hodges

Damon Hodges, 84 of Carmel, was called to his heavenly home Friday, December 7, 2012. Damon was born March 31, 1928 in Norton, VA to the late Robert L. and Vinnie R. Hodges. After graduating from Pennington Gap High School, Damon served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War. He attended the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and IUPUI. Damon was employed by Firestone Industrial Products in Noblesville, IN for 37 years, retiring in 1992. Damon loved fishing, camping, watching football and spending his winters in Florida. He was a great gardener that shared his harvest with family and friends. A proficient do-it-yourselfer, Damon took on many home projects and taught his sons and grandchildren many lessons in the process. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, December 10 at Carmel Lutheran Church, where friends may call from 9:30 until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Carmel Cemetery, with a luncheon following at Carmel Lutheran Church. Damon is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Peggy; sons, Timothy D. (wife, Sandy) and Michael T. (wife, Corinne); grandchildren, Brooke (husband, Dan) Parks, Michael (wife, Gina) Roswarski, Mark Hodges and Matthew Hodges; great grandchildren, Olivia and Emerson Roswarski, Caybree and Lexi Howat; brother, Ken Hodge.
