Dale Robert Cherry

Dale Robert Cherry, age 63 of Greenfield, IN passed away on Thursday evening, January 8, 2026.

Dale was born on November 19, 1962 in Lebanon, IN, a son of Robert H. Cherry and Vonda C. (Hays) Cherry. He is survived by his mother Vonda C. (husband Lowell) Shelburne of Sheridan, IN.

Dale was the youngest of three children. He is survived by his older sister Debbie (husband Bob) Holmes of Columbia, South Carolina and his other older sister Cindy (husband Dave) Overholt of Noblesville, IN. 

He married Crystal Born on September 15, 1990 in Indianapolis. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years: Crystal Cherry of Greenfield, IN.

His children: Michael (wife Miranda) Griffith of Shelbyville, IN and Tyler (wife Chelsea) Cherry of Cumberland, IN. 

His grandchildren - Michael's children: Ella Griffith and Grayson Griffith and Tyler's children: Nevaeh Cherry, Jaxon Cherry, Liam Cherry and Elias Cherry.

His niece and nephews: Ryan Holmes, Brianne Holmes, Chris Durham.

He is preceded in death by his father Robert H. Cherry and one grandson: Elijah Cherry.

Dale grew up in Sheridan, Indiana. He attended Sheridan High School, graduating in class of 1981.

Throughout his professional career he worked as a computer programmer for Huntington Bank.

Over the years he enjoyed doing yard work as well as playing and watching football. He loved his grandchildren; they were his joy.

Most importantly Dale was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

In accordance with Dale's wishes, Cremation Rites will be accorded. He will be placed to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
