Cynthia "Sammy" Strickland,82, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on December 12, 2024, surrounded by love and family. Cynthia was born on February 18,1942, to Dr. Hiram and Roberta (Haskell) Sexson in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1959 and Indiana University in 1963.

Cynthia’s legacy is one of unwavering love and a deep appreciation for the little joys in life. She will be fondly remembered for her thoughtful QVC gifts, vibrant gardens, infectious positivity, and boundless curiosity.

Her compassionate spirit left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Most of all for her daughter, Samantha Krukemeier and her son, Jimmy Strickland. She poured her heart into her family and friends, and after even just an afternoon with her, you couldn’t help but feel truly seen and deeply cared for.

While the word "kind" may appear simple, it perfectly embodies Cynthia’s essence. Her warmth and light touched everyone she encountered, and she cherished the connections she built with others throughout her life.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Cynthia by being part of her journey. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Cynthia (Sammy) is survived by her daughter Samantha Krukemeier (Jeff), step grandchildren Kyra Elliott (Zach), great grandchildren Reid, Baker, Travis (Meaghan), great grandchildren Camden, Andie. Son, Jim and fiancé Julie Guest. and dear brother Rick.
