Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana – Curtis Daugherty was born on November 9, 1941, to parents Cloyce Clyde & Edna (Wingard) Daugherty in Logansport, Indiana. On February 13, 2026, Curt joined his beloved Patricia in Heaven.

He worked for many years as a supervisor at Firestone Industries in Noblesville, retiring in 2007. He married his beloved Patricia on October 10, 1964, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage together before her passing in April of 2025.

Curt was an avid fisherman and enjoyed making his own hand-tied flies and would oftentimes take Pat camping with him, McCormick’s Creek State Park being one of their favorite spots. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe with both Pat and her sister, Sharon, the three of them together, a team.

Curt had a tough exterior but was a softy at heart, volunteering for many years as a delivery person for Meals-on-Wheels. He also loved dogs, especially his best buddy Jack, and was active in the Indy Dog and Disc Club. He enjoyed taking part in club competitions with his black lab Rocky.

Curt is survived by his sister-in-law, Sharon Galema and his two nieces, Lisa Daugherty (Teresa), and Dana.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 12 – 2 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) with a Catholic funeral service taking place at 2 pm. Father Michael O’Mara will be presiding. Entombment will take place at Washington Park Cemetery following services.
