Crystal Fox Hasewinkel
87, of Zionsville passed away September 24, 2012. She was born on June 16, 1925 to Oscar and Grace (Stephenson) Fox in Indianapolis. Crystal was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School, Class of 1943, and Franklin College, Class of 1947, where she was a history major and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
Crystal was employed at Methodist Hospital in the Personnel Department from 1947 to 1953. It was at Methodist that she met Dr. Carroll Haswinkel, her husband of nearly 59 years, whom she married on October 17, 1953.
Crystal was active in Psi Iota Xi philanthropic society, and was a volunteer with the Hoosier Salon and the Indiana State Museum. She was a life-long member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. Crystal was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her children Dr. John Hasewinkel (Christina), Dr. Thomas Hasewinkel (Kaye), and Tamar Meeks (Evan) and her grand-daughters Abigail, Sarah, Rachel, Holland, Leah, and Tatum. Crystal was preceded in death by her husband Carroll; her mother, father, and step-mother Gladys; and by sons James and Timothy Hasewinkel.
Visitation will be at Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will also be at Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
