Cornelius E. Healy, Jr., 88, of Carmel, Indiana (Con) passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, from coronary heart disease. Con was born September 6, 1936, in Chicago, IL to the late Cornelius E. Sr., and Florence Healy. He attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated from the University of Cincinnati Medical School. Following his graduation from medical school, Con served 2 years in the United States Air Force as a pediatrician at Loraine AFB in Maine.
Con was very proud of his time spent as a pediatrician in Evansville, Indiana. He enjoyed taking care of his patients at Welborn Clinic and Welborn Hospital for more than 40 years before retiring in 1998. He enjoyed golfing weekly with his golf group and the occasional trip to Ellis Park before moving to Carmel in 2007.
In addition to golfing, Con enjoyed rooting for his favorite sports teams – Notre Dame and IU. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Con is survived by his wife, Mary Lu; daughters, Beth (husband, Norm) Campbell and Maureen (husband, Bart) Nielsen; grandchildren, Colleen (husband, Zach) Ormand, Patrick Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Evelyn Nielsen, Owen Nielsen; and brother, James (Jim) Healy of Madison, WI. Con was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Healy.
A private burial is planned in Crown Hill National Cemetery.
