Corey Scott Pennington

Corey Scott Pennington 38, of McCordsville, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012. He was born August 27, 1974 to Clois Dale and Lou Ann Pennington in St. Joseph, MI. Corey was a teacher with Indianapolis Public Schools for 12 years. He graduated from Anderson University and was a member of Agothos. As a young man he spent his summers as a youth counselor for Kingdom Works, in Philadelphia and Spring Hill in Michigan. Corey was an amazing father who adored his daughters. He was full of energy. He enjoyed biking, movies and Marvel Comics, especially Spider Man. He leaves to cherish his memory, parents, his loving wife Sarah Lynn Pennington, two daughters, Zoe and Lily; one brother Brian Michael (Krissy), and a grandmother, Pearl Pennington; five nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Corey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ephert and Lillian Eckelbarger and paternal grandfather, William Pennington. Friends may call from 5 – 8 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Funeral services will begin 3:00 pm Sunday October 28, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Corey Scott Pennington Education Fund.
