Constance Haimbaugh

Constance Eleanor Haimbaugh of Zionsville died December 3, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 6, 1937 to the late Lloyd L. and Estelle Hathaway Graham Baldwin in Akron, Ohio. Connie graduated from Buchtel High School and Akron University. She married John William Haimbaugh on August 16, 1958. Connie was an elementary school teacher before becoming a mother, the most important work of her life. The Cedar Chest Antique Store in Zionsville, her business for many years, allowed her to educate and be involved with the community. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Delta Gamma sorority, Antiquarian Club, Olde Florida and Wyndemere Golf Clubs in Naples, Florida. HER TRUE LEGACY: Connie was a joy to be around! She was a true giver in every sense, especially listening and offering her beautiful spirit. We will miss so many things including her beautiful smile, kind eyes, her story telling, animated facial expressions, her sense of humor, and her unconditional love. Gardening, traveling, golf, and playing cards were her favorite hobbies. In addition to all her wonderful qualities, Connie was an accomplished pianist and artist. A devoted and loving mother, Connie was the happiest when in the company of her family and friends. Her faith allowed the fruit of her spirit to work in all circumstances. Connie was humble, generous, giving, all of which she demonstrated through her daily words and actions. She was the bridge that led her daughter and many others to Christ. Connie touched the lives of all those with whom she came in contact. Connie will be greatly missed by her son, David Haimbaugh (Adina); her daughter, Elizabeth Demaree (John); her daughter-in-law, Michelle Jentz Haimbaugh; her 12 grandchildren, Andrew, Joseph, Robert, and John Jr. Demaree, Charlie, Samantha, and Patrick Haimbaugh, Connie, Christopher, David, Preston, and Bentley Haimbaugh; her sister, Barbara Bowling Mell, as well as the many friends she leaves behind. Connie is now reunited with her husband of 52 years, John W. Haimbaugh, and their son, Robert M. Haimbaugh, all now with their eternal Father. The Haimbaugh and Demaree families have been blessed by many wonderful caretakers including the My Extra Hands Agency, Camilo Ontirveros, and especially Marie Whitehead (Connie's special earth angel). Additionally, our heartfelt thanks and gratitude is extended to the Dr. Carl Lundstrum and the staff of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and Dr. Douglas Franke of Northside Internal Medicine. May all of your lives be blessed just as you have blessed our loving mother! Family and friends are invited to gather from 9 to 11 am, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th St, Indianapolis. A service celebrating Connie's life and faith will begin at 11 am in the Roberts Chapel at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Following the service, Connie will be laid to rest next to her husband, John, at Zionsville Cemetery.
